Is the correct spelling Anthocharini or Anthocharidini? The first taxon is formed from the Latin root of the type genus Anthocharis, that is, Anthochar-, followed by the tribal suffix -ini. The ICZN Code gives exceptions related to complex Latin grammar. Even though, for grammatical reasons stipulated in the ICZN Code, the root should be Anthocharid-, Article 29.5 of this Code provides for the retention of the predominantly used spellings. However, Anthocharini has been used by all recent systematists dealing with European fauna: Higgins, 1975; Leraut, 1997; Vives Moreno, 1994.
