Notes
(1) The Subfamily name Eumesiidae Felder & Felder, [1867] was placed on the Official Index of Rejected and Invalid Family-group Names in Zoology by Opinion 1669 (ICZN, 1992. Bull. zool. Nomencl. 49(1): 88-89).
(2) Verity, 1940 (Farf. diurne Ital. 1: 86) replaced Cyclopidinae Speyer, 1879 with Heteropterinae Aurivillius, 1925 because the type-genus name Cyclopides HĂĽbner, [1819] is a junior synonym of Heteropterus DumĂ©ril, 1806 (ICZN Code, Article 40.2 provides that such action taken before 1961, and becoming widely accepted (as it has), is valid). However, in accordance with Recommendation 40A of the Code, the new name (Heteropterinae) should be cited with its author (Aurivillius) and date (1925), followed in parentheses by the date of priority of the name it replaces (1879).
